Over at Leiter Reports, you may vote for the best philosopher of the 20th century, as well as, while you're at it, the best philosopher of the 19th century. However, due to the threat of contamination by the unwashed masses, "non-philosophy blogs" are urged not to link to these polls. So if you think this is one of those, you better not go over there. You have been warned. (Also, re: the first poll, see the (*cough*) lively discussion here.)
UPDATE [3/4]: The madness continues with a runoff pitting the 19th and 20th centuries in a head-to-head battle.
However, everyone is welcome at the Philosophers' Carnival!

It clearly says in your header that this is a philosophy blog. Your last post even had (some) philosophical content!
I just spent like five hours making a post. It was supposed to be short. Levi shows up somewhere in there.
I have no idea why Mill is winning the 19th-century vote so handily. I guess he's one of the few names on the list that the David Lewis crowd recognize as "one of theirs". At least Hegel and Nietzsche are in a dead heat for second (at the moment Hegel leads by one -- I have voted three times).
Well, yes, that is what it says, but as you know, there's Serious Professional Philosophy, and there's "Wittgenwankery" and whatnot, and we wouldn't want to confuse them now would we? (I don't know why I let those jerks get to me, but sometimes they really outdo themselves.)
You could be right about Mill. Sometimes we forget that even Leiter's domesticated proto-Quinean Nietzsche looks scary to your average hyperspecialized analytic. Plus everyone else could be splitting the vote. I had trouble choosing between Hegel, Nietzsche, and Peirce. I don't really know enough about any of them (even Nietzsche, whom I've written about) to be comfortable picking that guy over the others.
I like that they point out that the Rawls score is likely inflated. Kudos to anti-Rawls people!
